Pig Farm Consortium (PFC) is a grassroots recording studio currently located in the city of Newberg just outside the DIY mecca of Portland, Oregon. We are a trade-based studio that provides flexible and creative payment terms for recording services, rather than having a set fee structure. We work with musicians and artists to come to agreement for contributions to PFC in return for recording services. All contributions are then used to invest back into the studio. Examples of contributions include monetary donations, instruments, and recording equipment.
PFC’s overall objective is to continue growing and providing recording services for musicians and artists to get their projects off the ground, gain momentum, and improve the sonic impacts of their work. Our approach is to build a consortium of musicians and recording enthusiasts that creates a supporting community of musicians and artists, who are willing to contribute their time and talents towards PFC and customer recording projects.
PFC’s services includes providing studio and remote recording services, as well as tracking, mixing, editing, and mastering from within the PFC Studio or PFC Members home studios. Our members also provide song writing, sound, instrumentation, performance, and artistic services; anything that musicians or artists might need to complete a project.
PFC’s success is driven by the innovation in the services we provide, customer success in finished products and projects, consortium growth of collaborative and dedicated members, and organic growth of knowledge to increase the level and types of services we can provide.
The studio is a single performance and recording room and is a home-based recording studio in a detached building at a private residence. The studio provides audio services for every phase of the studio recording process to include single-track and multi-track recording, editing, overdubs, mixing, and mastering. The PFC Studio also has the ability to provide remote recording, depending on project or session requirements. Studio hours of operation are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9AM to 10PM.
